Snowy Saturday Bouldering Adventure at Flagstaff Mountain, Colorado

It's been a snowy winter here in Colorado and despite 50-60 degree days, there's still a bit of snow on the ground at outdoor climbing spots.  The addiction to climbing can't hold us back even if it's slippery!  We hit up a favorite local spot near Boulder, CO Flagstaff Mountain.  If you haven't been before, it's an excellent bouldering area that features over 250 problems and is only a short hike from the parking spots.

The area features mostly V2-V5 boulder problems.  One of the best warm up areas is the Monkey Traverse which is a long, pumping V4.  Snow on the ground made for wet rock areas and wet climbing shoes, so we opted not to push ourselves too hard.  After all, it's great just to get outside on a beautiful day.

When in the area, be sure to also hit up Neptune Mountaineering, the oldest outdoor gear shop in Boulder.  There's a fantastic climbing museum which consists of Mr. Neptune's personal collection of gear that originates back to the 1950s and before.

Snowy and slippery day but we didn't allow it to be an excuse!
